Feeding Guide

Treats are for special occasions, and should only play a small part in your dog’s balanced diet. Even if they use their most convincing ‘puppy eyes’ to try to persuade you otherwise. For small dogs or puppies over 2 months old, we recommend breaking the treat in half for the perfect bite. Make sure fresh drinking water is always available.

Storage Instructions

Store in a cool, dry place. Reseal the pack after opening and use within 2 weeks.

Sharon Sipson

Luna loved eating these and the fish smell was not overwhelming

Sophie

I've received them as a free gift. It was a nice surprise. My dogs loves them. They are soft enough for older dogs and tiny breeds. My pomeranian who had some of her teeth extracted is able to eat them. THey are fish flavours which is perfect as she cannot eat any poultry flavoured food.

Anna

My dog loves these i get them with every order of dog food fantastic value for money.

Mandy Dodd

My little girl loves all her treats because she is 16 and she can only eat soft treats they are perfect and so great getting the bundle

janet porter

These have been very popular with my dog and all the school run dogs too 😂 they’re quite big treats, so not *as* good for training unless you break them up

One HAPPY dog - Tobi loves all the treats and food we ordered. He really looks forward to mealtimes and clears his bowl every time. 😊 Perfect

Just like the food. These treats go down very well with my Labrador. He actually does as he’s asked when there’s a treat in front of his nose!

D.H

Our labrador is on a fish diet - so these are great for her.

Rebecca Williams

Treats that I can give my 2 frenchies who suffer from allergies, that they really enjoy.

Jeanette Stoker

The dogs very much enjoy the fishy treats salmon and slightly thicker fish treat that is broken up. I have three dogs ranging in age from 7 months to two seniors.

Sarah Hill

All grain free and judging by my pooch reaction, they taste pretty good. 😊

Hazel Procter

Our Standard Poodle loves these and they are good for a dog with a sensitive gut.

Wendy

High quality ingredients and apparently very tasty judging by how quickly they are devoured

Deborah Cope

My dog enjoyed them but they’re a bit expensive to buy regularly.

Gwen Wells

Our dog loves fish so this bundle is ideal for her. Great value for money and a very happy pup.

FAQs

Can you give your dog too many treats?

Unfortunately, it is possible to overfeed treats so as much as we love our four-legged friends, it's worth being cautious about how many treats you feed. Dogs who are given too many treats can end up with the following health problems:

Weight Gain: An overweight dog isn't a happy dog, being overweight can put a strain on joints, bones and the overall likelihood of serious health concerns increases dramatically. It's always best to seek advice from your vet if your dog starts putting on excess weight.
Nutrient Deficiencies: Although even the best and most natural treats can provide some valuable nutrition for your dog, If treats make up a large portion of your dog's diet, they may not be getting enough of the essential nutrients from their regular food.

How many treats per day for a dog?

Each dog is different so exactly how many treats is difficult to say however we wouldn't recommend exceeding more than 10% of your dogs total daily calorie allowance in treats. For an accurate calorie calculation, you will need to speak to your vet.

What is the most delicious treat for dogs?

Each dog is different but in our experience high protein baked treats are a hit! They are easy to take on the go and can be broken so that you don't accidentally overfeed. Lots of treats on the market contain cereals and junk so opt for natural treats when you can.

If you're looking for something you already have at home, carrots, broccoli, seedless apple slices and rice cakes can be inexpensive alternatives to ready made dog treats. Be careful to check what fruits dogs can eat before treating.

What age can I feed Forthglade treats to my dog?

Our soft treats can be enjoyed from 2 months + making them perfect for dogs or puppies.

Whilst our natural cuts treats can be enjoyed by slightly older puppies 4 months +.

Our dental sticks are suitable for dogs aged 1 year +.
