Feeding Guide

Treats are for special occasions, and should only play a small part in your dog’s balanced diet. Even if they use their most convincing ‘puppy eyes’ to try to persuade you otherwise. For small dogs or puppies over 2 months old, we recommend breaking the treat in half for the perfect bite. Make sure fresh drinking water is always available.

Storage Instructions

Store in a cool, dry place. Reseal the pack after opening and use within 2 weeks.

Don’t just take our word for it...

See what other pet parents are saying about this product

My two love the treats I got recently and they have the wet food daily. Looks like the first photo is a mix of my two, 😂 well they are Devon dogs

Christine Browse

Nessie the fax terrier loves her forthglade treats.

Diane from Silverdale

Dogs loved these treats-great for training.

Kerryowner

Great packaging, always stays fresh. My once fussy dog seems to love it!

Philippa

Bartleby loves his treats and I love them because they are healthy.

MS NICOLA GREASLEY-STERIA

Again, I cannot verify the quality scientifically BUT comparing the sausages to other 'meat sausages' purchased with a christmas stocking for my dog these seem so much better quality. The forthglade treat is still soft, like a sausage would be, and the casing is full of soft centred filling (previous store purchased sausages have dry, crispy casing and half filled with air, I'm sure they put the air in to stop it from being like a bullet!) Both the sausages and meaty nibbles my dog goes cuckoo for, and the bundle is definitely cheaper than buying the individual treats...so a great big waggy tail from my dog and thumbs up from me. Will definitely be buying again (as long as it stays anyway)

H1ghlym3

We get this bundle on subscription and the dogs love them … it means I always have a packet handy in the cupboard. I use them as training rewards and they keep their shape in my treat pouch

Judith Pickering

An excellent bundle. One item was missing, I assume it was out of stock. It was replaced with an item of much higher monetary value. I was very impressed and grateful.

Susan Cullen

We've only opened one packet but she loves them. Some treats are quite hard and must sit in the stomachs but these are much softer and presumably easier to digest

s l

I can't take the credit for the taste, but our German Shepherd loved them, they were a Christmas treat, and I'll definitely buy again for special occasions

Tracy Lawson

Great bundle to try different treats, dogs went crazy for them!

Teresa

My boxers luv em, think they are helping loads with the younger one

gary bishop icknield garage

Pleased with product. Dogs love them. Just about to order again

Linda Vieyra

My dog loves these, he is obsessed with them. I break the bigger ones in smaller pieces so they last quite a bit too.

Adela Fiscutean

We've not tried all of the treats yet, but she loves the meaty bites, and we'll definitely be buying these again.

Mrs Claxton

My pup absolutely loves these treats specifically the sausages.. never buy anything else

shona reid

Excellent treats - if you carve the sausages into small pieces they are brilliant for training.

Diana

Handy treats to reward my dog when he comes and obeys commands

Ms Janet Reed

Doggo sits before I can even ask if he spots these in the cupboard 🐕‍🦺❤️🐾

Miss Gillian Gilkes

I have not actually tasted these myself of course, but the dogs can't get enough of them.

FAQs

Can you give your dog too many treats?

Unfortunately, it is possible to overfeed treats so as much as we love our four-legged friends, it's worth being cautious about how many treats you feed. Dogs who are given too many treats can end up with the following health problems:

Weight Gain: An overweight dog isn't a happy dog, being overweight can put a strain on joints, bones and the overall likelihood of serious health concerns increases dramatically. It's always best to seek advice from your vet if your dog starts putting on excess weight.
Nutrient Deficiencies: Although even the best and most natural treats can provide some valuable nutrition for your dog, If treats make up a large portion of your dog's diet, they may not be getting enough of the essential nutrients from their regular food.

How many treats per day for a dog?

Each dog is different so exactly how many treats is difficult to say however we wouldn't recommend exceeding more than 10% of your dogs total daily calorie allowance in treats. For an accurate calorie calculation, you will need to speak to your vet.

What is the most delicious treat for dogs?

Each dog is different but in our experience high protein baked treats are a hit! They are easy to take on the go and can be broken so that you don't accidentally overfeed. Lots of treats on the market contain cereals and junk so opt for natural treats when you can.

If you're looking for something you already have at home, carrots, broccoli, seedless apple slices and rice cakes can be inexpensive alternatives to ready made dog treats. Be careful to check what fruits dogs can eat before treating.

What age can I feed Forthglade treats to my dog?

Our soft treats can be enjoyed from 2 months + making them perfect for dogs or puppies.

Whilst our natural cuts treats can be enjoyed by slightly older puppies 4 months +.

Our dental sticks are suitable for dogs aged 1 year +.
